Marquette Art Academy

The Art Academy was established in 1993 as an independent art school. It offers quality art education in a fun and casual environment to all ages. It has regularly scheduled weekly classes that focus on a particular culture, medium, artist or theme. In addition, there is an ongoing pre-school class that meets once a week and individual and semi-private instruction are also available. Once a month it hosts an "Art Party " which is two and a half hours of art, dance and yoga and includes a healthy snack! Birthday parties are also available at a reasonable rate.

Classes are taught by Barbara Knox, ("Miss Barb" to her students), who received a Bachelor's Degree in Art Education from Northern Michigan University. Over the years she's had the rewarding experience of watching many of her students grow as artists from kindergartners to adults.
