About Martha's Vineyard Eco Adventures

Martha's Vineyard Eco Adventures was established in 2009 by island native Erik VanLandingham. Erik recently graduated from Green Mountain College with a degree in Adventure Recreation with a focus in Environmental Sciences and has returned to the island to begin a career as a guide and instructor for kayaking and fishing. Before returning home, he worked as a registered Maine guide for five years at Northern Outdoors in central Maine, leading whitewater rafting expeditions down the Penobscot, Kennebec, and Dead Rivers. He has paddled many of New England's wildest rivers and most scenic locales. Continuous education and training has qualified him as a certified Level 4 ACA Coastal Sea Kayak Instructor, a Wilderness First Responder, and a Leave No Trace trainer. Erik provides you with his expertise in wildlife and local history gained from growing up on the Vineyard and from extensive study and training.
