Mayfield Graves Country Club (MGCC)
Mayfield Graves Country Club (MGCC), a private club in Mayfield, Kentucky, is full of history. The golf course dates back to 1922 as a nine-hole course with sand greens. It was redesigned in 1960 and nine more holes were added making it a championship golf course measuring 6,305 yards with a challenging par of 70. The golf course is tree-lined with rolling hills.
MGCC is more than a great place to play golf. We offer an Olympic-size swimming pool, five lighted tennis courts and a beautiful clubhouse which was remodeled in 1995 and contains both men's and women's card rooms and locker rooms. There is a clubroom (bar) along with a snack shop downstairs. MGCC hosts a variety of social, holiday and family activities throughout the year and is available for private functions.
The practice facility boasts a large driving range and putting green. MGCC is also home to the popular WKA (West Kentucky Amateur) and LWKA (Ladies' West Kentucky Amateur) annual tournaments.
The Golf Course
Mayfield Graves Country Club was established in 1922. The golf course originally had only 9 holes but was later upgraded to 18.
The course measures 6,305 yards and plays to a par of 70. It has numerous rolling hills, small greens, tree-lined fairways and water comes into play on 4 holes. The course is player friendly but challenging. The greens and tees are bent grass and the fairways and rough are Bermuda.
Mayfield Graves Country Club is home to the prestigious WKA (West Kentucky Amateur) tournament, which has been held annually since 1927 and to the LWKA (Ladies' West Kentucky Amateur). Cary Middlecoff and Russ Cochran are both former WKA champions. The current course record of 62 is held by Jason Lancaster.
The 9th is our signature hole. It measures 159 yards and requires an accurate tee shot through a stand of trees and over water to a slightly elevated green sloping from back to front.
