A variety of devices are supported, from hand held devices such as music players, phones or e-readers to computers.
McAlester Public Library has developed a QuickClick Utility to simplify access to most of our online services. If you would like to be able to have one click* access, please download and install our QuickClick Utility. It's easy, fast and best of all, convenient. Once you have saved your library card number within QuickClick, you won't have to enter it again.
Free Music Downloads
McAlester Public Library's Virtual Branch now offers FREE, LEGAL music downloads through the FreegalMusic Service. Each song is bought and paid for by the library on your behalf. Therefore, there is a limit of 3 per week per person.
Music Sampler
McAlester Public Library Music Sampler allows you to listen to select songs from within our broad music collection. You must have a valid library card from McAlester Public Library or one of our sister branches to utilize this app. This app works best with a 3G equivalent or better connection. Wi-Fi is recommended when streaming high quality.
Audio Books
McAlester Public Library's Virtual Branch now offers downloadable audio books sponsored by the Southeastern Public Library System of Oklahoma. To view and download these audio books, click the link below, select "Login" and enter your library card number without spaces. Once downloaded, you can use any portable MP3 player that supports the WMA (Windows Media Audio) or eMP3(Encrypted M-PEG Audio Level III) format to playback your content.
Meeting Room Use
McAlester Public Library has three meeting rooms available for use when not required for library purposes. Should scheduling conflicts arise, library programs and related activities will be given priority.
