McDowell Dam and Nature Park
"Relax and enjoy the nature and country!"
McDowell Dam and Nature Park is a 271 acre park located five miles east of Bismarck on Old Highway 10 and one mile north. The park is owned by the Burleigh County Water Management Board and managed by the Bismarck Parks and Recreation District. Available activities include swimming, boating, fishing and paddle boating.
McDowell Dam has many picnic areas to plan a family get together while enjoying the beautiful country scenery. You can go swimming to cool off or relax on the beautiful beach area. There's a great swing and play area for the kids to have fun while you're setting up the meal. Then you can rent a canoe or pedal boat to see the rest of the beautiful lake area. Great fun day for all!
