Minneiska Water Ski Team
It all began in the summer of 1974. On July 21 the Minneiska Ski Team performed its first ski show at the Lion's Club chicken barbecue picnic. The ski team was well received and soon moved to the Laursen's TC Campground. Thus our beginning. The Whitewater Lake Sports Club was initially formed to include many sports, but water show skiing became the favorite sport of choice.
The name Minneiska was fitting because it is the Indian name for white water. As Minneiska grew in name and numbers it became very popular and began competing at the Lamb's Farm tournament, the WI State Tournament, and Show Ski Nationals. We are a very proud group, and although we do not hold title to multiple trophies, we do have a number of honorary and prestigious awards.
Mission Statement
Minneiska Ski Team's mission is to encourage members of all ages to be good community stewards and to live a healthy lifestyle through physical fitness, personal growth, leadership opportunities, and lifelong friendships. The Minneiska Ski Team has been performing shows on Lake Whitewater for over 35 years and has left a positive imprint on many hundreds of families through entertaining family focus events. Minneiska has participated and performed throughout Wisconsin bringing smiles to all.
Our Organization
The Whitewater lake sports club is a charity-based 501(c)3 corporation located in Wisconsin. The Clubs' mission is to provide a year-round economically affordable sports program for children within the Whitewater and surrounding communities in Wisconsin. The charter of the organization is to teach children life skills relating to athletics, sportsmanship, exercise, health, fitness, team dynamics, competition and water safety.
