Missouri Theater
The Missouri Theater is owned and operated by the City of St. Joseph. It is home to Creative Arts Production, Performing Arts Association, to our resident theatre company, the Robidoux Resident Theatre, and the Saint Joseph Symphony. The Allied Arts Council also resides in our office complex.
It is the intention of the City of St. Joseph to comply in all aspects with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). If you plan on attending a meeting to participate or to observe and need special assistance beyond what is routinely provided, the city will attempt to accommodate you in every reasonable manner. Please call 816-271-4717, or TDD # 816-271-4898 at least two business days prior to the meeting to inform the City of your specific needs and to determine if accommodation is feasible.
Designed by Boller Brothers, the Missouri Theater's unique structure was added to the national Register of Historic Places in 1979. While movie palaces across the country were being torn down to make room for contemporary structures, the citizens of St. Joseph refused to allow destruction of one of the country's few examples of Hollywood-Oriental style.
