We value a love and appreciation for this art and respect for all. This studio was well established by Bonnie and Michael McGowan, creating an environment of intensity balanced with a familial atmosphere. Re-established by Kara Lawson in 2012, Ms. Lawson feels a great responsibility to the reputation of the name, as well as to all dancers that enter the studio. All ages and levels of ability are wholeheartedly welcomed.

About Kara Lawson, Owner and Artistic Director
Miss Lawson, a native of Bridgeport, WV, received early training from Momentum Dance Center. At age 13, she was made an apprentice of the Kitchen Sink Dance Company under the Direction of Michael McGowan, and a full-time company member the following year. She has been admitted to and attended many programs, including the Cedar Lakes Dance Camp and Governor's School for the Arts. In 2006, Miss Lawson attended Pro Danza Italia/USA, an intensive summer dance workshop on Italy's Tuscan Coast.
Kara was a member of WVU's Dance Ensemble and has set several pieces of choreography within the organization. In 2009, Miss Lawson spent the year studying dance in New York City with Max Stone, Jana Hicks, and Marijke Eliasberg. Kara spent six years as a company member of Morgantown's Alchemy Dance Project. In the 2010 season, she became the Acting Artistic Director of that organization as well as Red Stone Dance Initiative and debuted her first original full length production, "Home is Where Your Hat Is." Recently, she worked with the Bridgeport High School Dance Ensemble while finishing her Master's Degree in Secondary Education.
Miss Lawson took over Momentum in the summer of 2012 and plans to uphold the integrity that name has carried for so many years.
