The MSU Museum Store can help shoppers find something for nearly everyone on their gift list with great new items and seasonal favorites.

New at the Museum Store: a selection of owl mobiles carved from gourds (pictured), upcycled purses made from car tire inner tubes, carved wooden barrettes, multi-colored beaded bracelets (pictured) and decorative magnets made from retired steel drums.

Also for the holidays: popular hand-knit alpaca animal ornaments from South America and recycled and felted snowman lapel pins. Most prices range from $3.50 to $18, with a few items up to $35.

Visitors can explore a treasure trove of gift ideas that reflect the wonders of the natural world and world cultures. Featured are sterling silver jewelry, authentic handcrafts, textiles, figurines and accessories from around the world, educational toys and games. Shoppers will also find a wide variety of museum publications, science kits, dinosaur-themed items and children's books. Also through the end of the year, the Museum Store is carrying the companion book to its exhibit, "Cruisin' the Fossil Freeway with Artist Ray Troll and Paleontologist Kirk Johnson," with eye-popping and creative imaginings of fossil life from the American West.

Purchases made at the MSU Museum Store help support museum programs and activities.
