The Muncie Children's Museum is a fun and safe learning environment for children as well as parents. It serves the children of East Central Indiana by expanding their knowledge with the use of thought-provoking and interactive exhibits. Parents are encouraged to explore the exhibits and museum with their children. The Muncie Children's Museum isn't just for the young people of East Central Indiana, but for the young at heart as well!
Mission
To provide fun through education and interactive opportunities for children of all ages in a safe and creative environment.
Every day at the Muncie Children's Museum, kids (and grownups) learn something new, teachers and parents relax, small faces light up and someone's experience is made better by coming in contact with one of our volunteers.
We are always in need of friendly, energetic people to become part of our volunteer staff. Whatever your interests, we have an opportunity for you! Some of those opportunities include assisting with workshops and educational programs, hosting birthday parties, helping with art projects and wacky snacks, gardening and being a friendly face and resource person for our visitors.
Our History
1975 marked the beginning of the Muncie Children's Museum. The need for a child-oriented learning facility in Muncie was recognized. A proposal was drawn up and presented to Kappa, Kappa, Kappa Inc., a local philanthropic sorority.
