The Museum of the South Dakota State Historical Society is one of more than 1,800 museums across America to offer free admission to military personnel and their families this summer in collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, and the Department of Defense. The mission of the Museum of the South Dakota State Historical Society is to promote an understanding and appreciation of South Dakota's rich heritage and complex history through collections, exhibits, programs and events that engage and inspire people to explore history's impact.
