New Castle Public Library
Our Mission
The mission of the New Castle Public Library is to promote lifelong learning, contribute to the development of an active and informed community of citizens, and to meet the evolving educational, recreational, and informational needs of the citizens.
The New Castle Public Library offers all citizens the right to obtain information and knowledge in order to participate in the democratic process. The library must provide information to its people so that they can make decisions through the use of available information and knowledge.
The New Castle Public Library strives to maintain an awareness of new developments in this age of information, and when feasible, make an effort to implement new technology and services in ways that make them equally available and accessible to all citizens in our service area.
As the District Library Center for Lawrence County, Butler County, Mercer County, and Armstrong County, the New Castle Public Library promotes and supports local libraries through the provision of consultation and adjunct services.
