The Nordby Center for Recreation is about so much more than a gym with a pool; it is a positive reflection for the community by providing wellness, recreation and fitness. Our intent is to make the community a better place to live, while helping to put family values into action with programs that accomodate busy schedules and create an opportunity for you to spend quality time with your children.

Members come here not only to shed a few pounds, but to gain self-worth by investing in themselves.

  • The Investment
    A membership at the Nordby Center is no longer viewed as an expense, it is now perceived as a fitness investment. At the Nordby Center, you will find one of the finest facilities in the region with some of the most affordable prices.
  • The Opportunity
    We offer state-of-the-art equipment, numerous group exercise opportunities and many recreational programs that you can enjoy with friends and family.

    Here at the Nordby Center, we have something for everyone. All of our programs are coordinated to give you a choice. The only hard part is deciding what program to attend. Please let us know if you have any questions about these programs.

  • Seasonal Youth Day-Camp
    Youth Day-Camps offered throughout the year during non-school periods for children Kindergarten - 5th Grades.
  • Preschool Playland
    Bring your preschoolers to the Nordby Center for Recreation for playtime on our indoor play area supported by the United Way. Preschool Playland includes equipment and toys to encourage gross motor play, imagination & physical fitness. This is a great way to beat the cold-weather blues. This is a non-staffed area and an adult must be present at all times.

  • Step Aerobics
    This class offers an exceptional workout using 4"-8" steps. Intensity varies from class to class - high- and low-impact options are available.
  • Body Sculpting
    This great hour-long strength and toning class is designed to target the upper and lower body plus abs.
  • Power Pacing
    One of the hottest trends in the fitness industry. It is the ultimate indoor cycling program developed by the fitness experts at Keiser. Whether you're a beginner, an advanced outdoor cyclist, or someone looking to add a little variety to your workouts, you'll get a great workout.
  • Power Cut
    Another popular, new concept in the fitness industry. This class focuses on strengthening and toning all muscle groups. Both dumbbells and small barbells are used. If you want to increase your fitness with weight training yet are taken over by boredom with the machines, this class is for you. Men and women of all age groups and fitness experience are encouraged to attend.
  • Zumba
    Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That's exactly what the Zumba program is all about. It's an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness-party that's moving millions of people toward joy and health.
  • Silversneakers Classic
  • This class offers something for everyone, regardless of fitness level, and can help improve overall strength, flexibility and balance, resulting in your ability to stay healthy and maintain your independence. Your instructor guides you through exercises with resistance tools at your own pace. A chair is available for seated and/or standing support, stretching and relaxation.
  • Pilates
    A group exercise class that focuses on the strengthening of the core muscle group, also known as "the powerhouse", and helps to improve flexibility, balance and posture. Exercises are done on a mat and with a stability ball. Beginner and Intermediate sessions offered.
  • H2O Fitness
    Join in this cardio-aerobic, funtastic strength training and high-energy workout.
  • Deep Water Power
    Deep-water aerobics that includes 60 minutes of intense aerobics, abdominal exercises, cool down and stretch.
  • Hydro-Fit
    Shallow water aerobics that uses foam dumbbells and weights during aerobics; includes some toning and abdominal exercises.
  • Aqua Zumba
    This class integrates the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines. Aqua Zumba blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that's cardio-conditiioning, body-toning and most all, exhilerating beyond belief.
