North Carolina Stage Company
North Carolina Stage Company performs in a 99-seat, off-Broadway style theatre that we built ourselves in 2001. Our address is 15 Stage Lane, with access off Walnut St. We're just 1/2 a block from Malaprop's Bookstore, and across the street from Zambra restaurant. Walk down our well-lit alley to find the best theatre in Asheville!
Driving Directions
From the East: From Interstate 240, take Exit 4C (Montford and Haywood Streets). At the top of the ramp, turn left at the light, and this will take you over the bridge back across the highway. (You will see signs directing you toward the Rankin Parking Deck). At the next light, turn left onto Haywood Street. Go through two more lights, staying on Haywood Street. Keeping the Civic Center on your left, continue on Haywood until you see a bookstore called Malaprop's on your left. The street immediately next to Malaprop's is Walnut Street. Turn left onto Walnut. On the first block of Walnut on the right, you will see the Rankin Parking Deck. Park there. When you exit the parking deck on street level, turn back up towards Haywood Street and look for Stage Lane right next to the parking deck, on your left. You will see our green awning there!

Parking
North Carolina Stage Company is conveniently located near two city-owned parking garages: the Rankin Avenue garage and the Civic Center garage. Both charge an hourly rate ($0.75/hour), though the first hour is free. You can often find street parking at metered spots in downtown Asheville, but be prepared to spend a little extra time during peak times, such as Friday and Saturday nights.
