Vision: Connecting the people of North Idaho with an expanding system of trails.

Mission: To preserve and develop the North Idaho Centennial Trail System and promote non-motorized trail connectivity throughout North Idaho

The North Idaho Centennial Trail project was put into motion in 1987. The first five miles of trail were dedicated in October of 1990 with the final link between Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls being completed in 1996. The trail, built by dedicated public funds, meanders for 24 miles from the Idaho/Washington state line along the Spokane River to Higgins Point on beautiful Lake Coeur d'Alene.

The North Idaho Centennial Trail Foundation was established in 1989 as a non-profit organization to oversee the maintenance, stewardship and continued improvements of the trail. In addition, the Foundation's efforts are directed to promoting, recommending, and assisting with the standardization of trail designs and construction in Kootenai County.
