Northeastern Nevada Museum
The Northeastern Nevada Museum has an extensive collection of objects. There are items from Elko High School, the Old Elko General Hospital, saddles, kitchen items, art, Indian baskets, decanters, old typewriters, juke boxes, phonographs, rocks and minerals, clothing and hats. The Northeastern Nevada Museum's collection contains historical items that pertain to Northeastern Nevada, Elko County or to the State of Nevada.
Northeastern Nevada Historical Society Mission Statement:
The Northeastern Nevada Museum strives to be the premier cultural and historical center for preservation, research and education in northeastern Nevada. The museum will maintain a quality facility dedicated to serving the area and its visitors by providing comprehensive archives and collections, diverse history and art exhibits, research facilities and a community gathering space.
The Northeastern Nevada Museum will be displaying a "Flag of Honor",made from all the names of the people who perished in the attacks of 9/11. The flag was used in the ceremony to unveil the I-beam from the World Trade Center, on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at City Hall. It is on loan from Museum Board Member Brad Roberts.
