Oklahoma City Zoological Park

Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

The Oklahoma City Zoological Park is a fully accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and the American Association of Museums as both a living museum and a botanical garden. The Zoo participates in numerous cooperative Species Survival Plan projects and is dedicated to the conservation of rare and endangered wildlife.

Guests are welcome to bring in personal coolers with outside food and drink. Open-air cooler storage is available by the Jungle Gym playground. Please refrain from bringing plastic straws, glass containers and/or alcoholic beverages.

Exhibit railings and fences are for your safety; please refrain from climbing on them.

Fall, winter and cloudy days are good times to visit the Zoo because it is less crowded and many of the animals are more active. If you do choose to visit on a hot summer day, try to come in the early morning or a few hours before closing.

Find out about animal arrivals, special events, and other Zoo happenings with a quick stop at the Zoo's information kiosk or web site.

Speak softly. Loud noises may startle the animals. Please do not chase the free-range animals like ducks, geese and peacocks. Remember, the Zoo is their home.

To retrieve lost items or turn in found items, please go to the Guest Relations office at the main entrance.

Our animals are on special diets. Please do not share your "treats" with them.

Spend some time at each exhibit. You may see a gorilla foraging for food, an elephant taking a bath and more. The animals are here for everybody to enjoy. So take your time and please be considerate of others, too.

The Zoo's staff works very hard to make the gardens beautiful for all of the visitors to enjoy, so please do not mosey through the posies.

Please leave your pets at home. If you chose to bring "Spot" with you, the Zoo offers an area to house pets for a small fee during your visit.

Guide animals must check in at the Guest Relations office located in the main plaza.
