Oregon Air and Space Museum
History and Purpose |
The Oregon air and Space Museum opened in August of 1991. It is dedicated to the acquisition and display of various aircraft and artifacts depicting the history of aviation and space technology for education and enjoyment of the people of Oregon . The Museum has become a popular education tool, and is a regular part of the curriculum of several area schools. The museum is also a focal point where pilots, historians, model builders and aviation enthusiasts of all ages sure their common interests. The Museum was awarded the 1997 Civil Air Patrol National Award For Education. The Museum frequently sponsors special aviation events such as fly-ins, dinner speakers, and open house air fairs. The Oregon Air And Space Museum is a nonprofit, tax exempt organization and relies entirely on donations, admissions, grants and memberships for support. |
