Philadelphia Museum of Art
The Philadelphia Museum of Art - in partnership with the city, the region, and art museums around the globe - seeks to preserve, enhance, interpret, and extend the reach of its great collections in particular, and the visual arts in general, to an increasingly diverse audience as a source of delight, illumination, and lifelong learning.
The Museum touches the lives of Philadelphians in many ways. Hear about the impact and the stories of some of those who've been touched by the Museum through its collection, its programs, and identity as a national and regional landmark.
The Philadelphia Museum of Art, a not-for-profit corporation, is led by a director and chief operating officer and privately administered for the public benefit by a Board of Trustees.
In an ongoing effort to attract increasingly diverse audiences, create additional gallery spaces and research facilities, and enhance visitor services and amenities for a growing public, the Museum looks toward the future.
Master Plan
The Museum is beginning to move forward to dramatically expand the Neoclassical building overlooking the Parkway. Frank O. Gehry has been selected as architect for this 10-year master plan.
Rodin Museum and Garden
In partnership with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and the Fairmount Park Commission, the Museum will realize a design created by Olin Partnership to rejuvenate the Rodin Museum garden in the spirit of its original 1929 landscape plan.
