Pickford Film Center
PFC is run by four full-time, six part-time staff, and a Board of Directors. PFC serves nearly 50,000 individuals annually with diverse daily film programming, including a bi-monthly senior matinee series, a monthly sci-fi series and special events for schools, universities and community organizations. PFC has always operated responsibly within its income, and strives to blend the best of non-profit and for profit business approaches to create growth and maintain successful operations.
As the region's leading venue for independent film, and the only 365 day independent cinema between Seattle and Vancouver B.C., PFC serves individuals of all ages, races and socioeconomic levels. With recent program grants from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), Humanities Washington, the Charlotte Martin Foundation and capital project grants from the Washington State Department of Commerce's Building for the Arts Grant, The MJ Murdock Charitable Trust and The Rotary Club of Bellingham, PFC has a proven track record of success as both a local business and non-profit leader.

Mission & History
Pickford Film Center (PFC) is more than movies! A vital, mission-driven organization dedicated to its community, PFC offers an authentic, rich and uniquely Bellingham "experience" in a casual and friendly environment. PFC programming brings people from all walks of life together to celebrate the joy of the moving image.
PFC was founded in 1998 by a small group of local film fans dedicated to making high-quality cinema available in Bellingham and the entire Whatcom County region.
The mission of PFC is to provide a forum and resource for independent cinema, strengthening community through education, dialogue and the celebration of film. PFC offers year-round, independent, foreign and documentary film and related special events. In addition to daily film programming PFC offers:
NW Projections Film Festival a spring celebration of regional film attracting student and professional filmmakers from Seattle to Vancouver
The 65 Hour Guerilla Project a filmmaking competition for high school students
Doctober a month long, international documentary film series
Children's Film Festival an annual hands-on creative celebration that includes arts workshops and free screenings for at-risk youth
Traveling Pickford Show Outdoor Cinema a summer program of family friendly films in and around the community
PFC is a dynamic, multi-dimensional arts nonprofit supported by enthusiastic members, businesses, and audiences. With over 2,000 dues paying members, PFC has more than any other cultural institution in Whatcom County. Our vision is to be a premiere showcase for independent film on the West Coast and with the opening of our new film center in 2010 we are well on our way.
