Piping Rock Equestrian Center

Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

Piping Rock Equestrian Center was formerly Tahoe Meadows Equestrian Center, a show barn specializing in Hunter/Jumper and 3-Day Eventing. Ed Svendsen and Lisa Fielding purchased the 26 acre facility, in addition to the adjoining 45 acres in the summer of 2011. Ed runs an excavating and snow removal business in the Tahoe basin. They also own and operate hay and cattle ranches in Doyle and Herlong, California, forty miles north of Reno. They grow all the hay supplied to the stable insuring a consistent source of feed for the horses. They raise black angus cattle on over twenty five thousand acres in the Plumas National Forest during the summer, and in Penn Valley during the winter. Many of the lesson horses started their training as ranch horses. The Truckee stable offered the perfect opportunity to bring the ranch world closer to home. See DDotRanches.com

Philosophy

While we cannot share the wonder of a calf being born, we can share the pleasure of sitting in a saddle. We take joy in simple things at the stable, a child learning to ride, a nuzzle on the neck, an afternoon trail ride. We want to make the stable a refuge for you, a place that sustains you.

Ranching Experience

In spite of the fact that PREC has the Tahoe National Forest out the back gate, and plenty of grazing, there is not a cow in site. We hope to change that. Just as soon as temperatures warm up, we will be bringing cattle to the barn. We will offer sorting, and potentially team penning, and branding.
