The Pittsburg Public Library provides free access to ideas, materials, and services that support the cultural, educational, and recreational enrichment of the community.
Vision Statement
The Pittsburg Public Library will be a cultural, intellectual, and social center of the community, providing support for reading and information literacy, continually adapting its collections, services and facility in response to the changes in cultural, educational, and recreational needs of Pittsburg.
Goals
Staff will constantly strive to improve our skills and the way we operate, in order to offer exemplary service to all patrons.
The Library will provide the collection, programs, and services to satisfy community cultural, educational, and recreational needs for all ages.
The Library will provide formal and informal instruction for all ages, in locating, evaluating, and using information resources of all types.
PPL Foundation
The Pittsburg Public Library Foundation was formed in 1999. In the year 2000, an endowment was established to help ensure that the library would have adequate funding for years to come. Unless otherwise specified, all monetary gifts to the library become part of this endowment.
