PK Park
From the Fan's Perspective:
The Ems are excited to play their third season in the new $19.2 million PK Park. Located right behind University of Oregon's Autzen Stadium, this park has full locker rooms, clubhouses and team amenities, a partially-covered roof, specially designed lighting structures, a state-of-the-art high definition video board, and a digital inning-by-inning scoreboard.
PK has a total capacity of 4,000, including 2,040 box seats with backs, a general admission bleacher section that holds 480, 53 ADA and companion seats, two picnic plazas and eight upper level luxury suites.
There is also a Sluggo FunZone located behind the Bleachers down the left field line, featuring an inflatable obstacle course, an inflatable bounce house and an inflatable tee ball game. For the younger Ems fan, this will be the highlight of the new park.
Parking for Emeralds games is a piece of cake since PK Park is located in the Autzen parking lot where spaces are abundant. Parking will be $3 per car.
From the Player's Perspective:
PK Park's field is made of specially designed turf with the exception of the pitcher's mound and home plate area, which will be comprised of traditional dirt. The specially designed baseball turf is different than turf used in football stadiums, and feels more like natural grass. The infields and basepaths are created from special fibers for added durability, consistent ball bounce and optimal sliding. The outfield surface and warning track have different physical properties which alert the outfielder when they are getting close to the fence.
