Point Mallard Park offers the great outdoors like you've never experienced it before! Hidden among North Alabama‘s wooded pines, the 700+-acre family park lets you stay in tune with nature 365 days a year.

Come play 18 holes on one of the South‘s best golf courses, stay in our 25-acre, wooded campground, visit America's first wave pool at our seasonal Waterpark, and/or cool off in the year round indoor ice skating rink!

Point Mallard's additional facilities include tennis courts, batting cages, a 3 mile hiking/jogging/biking trail, and a driving range. We are also proud to be the host site for several impressive annual events such as the Soul Stock Christian Music Festival, the Alabama Jubilee Memorial Day Weekend, The Spirit of America Festival July 4th, Greater Tennessee Valley Antique Car Show, The Wet Dog Triathlon, and the Battle for Decatur, Civil War Reenactment held Labor Day weekend.

The Golf Course, Campground and Ice Complex are open year round. Be sure to visit us this year.

Point Mallard is located just a few minutes off I-65 midway between Nashville, TN, and Birmingham, AL, at Decatur Exit 340 or Decatur Exit 334. The park is open 365 days a year and is owned and operated by

The City of Decatur, Department of Parks & Recreation.

Sprinkled among Point Mallard's major outdoor facilities are a number of other recreational facilities and activities available for your enjoyment. A large, covered pavilion with restrooms is available for groups of up to 500.

The open-air facility is perfect for meal functions, rallies, seminars, meetings, craft exhibitions and church organization activities. Contact group sales coordinator for rental fees and availability.

Also, to add a little bit more fun to your family outdoor activities, Point Mallard offers a 3-mile hiking/biking trail, three fenced and lighted baseball fields, a group pavilion, sand volleyball, extensive picnic grounds, an open-air prayer chapel near our campground, and bank fishing along the Tennessee River! They also sponsor annual festivals such as the Balloon Festival, Civil War Reenactment, and much more.

The Strike Zone

Located near the Bill J. Dukes Complex features a Golf Driving Range and Batting Cages. Call (256) 341-4926 for more information.

The Batting Cages feature Softball and Baseball pitching machines. Speeds range from 40 to 70 mph for baseball, and slow speed and fast pitch for softball. The cages are available for rent by the hour.

Driving Range features target greens, putting green and enclosed shelter. Rental clubs are available, snd debit cards are available for non operating hours.

T.C. Almon Center

The "T.C. Almon Center", located within Point Mallard Park, is operated by the Decatur Parks and Recreation Department. The recreation center, is open daily, and has basketball courts, weight room, game room, meeting rooms, craft room, kitchen, shower/locker facilities, a racquetball court, and vending machine area. Also, behind the T.C. Almon Recreational Center, is the "Jimmy Johns Tennis Center".
