R.S. Barnwell Memorial Garden & Art Center

Our mission is to promote and support visual arts and music which capitalizes on our cultural diversity; to educate the community about art and horticulture; to develop the artistic skills of artists and children in our community; and to provide quality professional art exhibitions, music performances and horticulture programming to enhance our community spirit.

For 30 years The Friends of the Barnwell have endeavored to ensure that the Shreveport- Bossier community and all visitors to our area experience the finest in art and horticulture.The Fragrance Garden is designed to enhance visits to the Center for the visually impaired.

Located on the south end of the center, the garden includes a variety of plants easily indentifiable by smell and by touch.
