Riverfront Playhouse

Riverfront Playhouse was created as a not-for-profit volunteer community organization to encourage awareness, understanding and appreciation of live theatre by providing a nurturing environment for acting, directing, and creatively expressing the various arts of the stage.
The Riverfront Playhouse was created in 1981 by a few local theatre lovers who had a vision of providing a community theatre for the Redding area. It is Redding's only surviving community theatre and has consistently provided quality live entertainment for North State audiences. We have produced 212 plays, including 18 musicals and 13 summer youth productions totaling more than 2,100 performances in a warehouse-like facility with limited parking and a leaky roof.
Riverfront Playhouse is now looking forward to a new theatre in downtown Redding which will benefit the entire community and realize the dream of a theatre district in the downtown area as set forth in the Downtown Specific Plan. Architectural plans are complete and a contractor has been hired. Fund raising activities are continuing and your help is needed to provide the Redding area with a first class community theatre. Your support is appreciated
Get involved with the Riverfront Playhouse and you will be supporting what has been called "the marriage of all arts" - Theater!
In a community that is growing and developing like the Redding area, theater is an increasingly important need. Some of us think theater is one of the necessities of life! Everyone is welcome to join the proud ranks of community theater members and volunteers.
