ROSE GARDEN IN AVERY PARK
The Rose Garden is located at the Northwest entrance of Avery Park and Natural Area, on Avery Park Drive.
The Rose Garden features:
- Capacity of 100 people in the grassy areas, just outside of the Garden
- Over 250 varieties of Roses, blooming from May to October (full bloom is in June)
- Scattered arbors, art objects, and benches
- Paved and soft-surface trails
- Potable water via a drinking fountain nearby
- Ample parking
Nearby Park Features
There are five picnic shelters in Avery Park and Natural Area which can be reserved. The shelters are the Fire Side Shelter, Maple Grove Shelter, Lions Shelter, Thompson Shelter, Townsend Shelter. The softball fields on either side of the Rose Garden may also be reserved, either for play or to ensure no play takes place during your event. Avery Park and Natural Area features several picturesque areas, such as a historic locomotive and riverside viewing points that can serve as a backdrop for formal photos. There are playgrounds and restrooms/port-a-pots scattered throughout the park, many of which are handicapped accessible. A walking/jogging trail winds through the park and along the river. The park also offers an extensive separate horseshoe court area and several ball fields. All play equipment/fields are available on a first come, first served basis unless specifically reserved via a permit.
