Sail Sheboygan
Sail Sheboygan was formed in 2004 to promote national and international sailing competition and education. We first hosted the 2005 Lightning North Americans. Sail Sheboygan provides professional quality in organizing and managing fleet and match racing events.
Sail Sheboygan is proud to announce that it has been designated as a US Powerboat Training Center by US Powerboating. As one of only 23 training centers in the country, this honor recognizes Sail Sheboygan as a center of excellence in powerboat training and community resources for the sport of powerboating.
Beginning this summer, Sail Sheboygan will be offering public and private on-the-water classes for anyone wishing to learn how to safely operate a small motorboat and improve their boathandling skills. These hands-on classes are US Coast Guard approved, state recognized, and taught by experienced, certified instructors.
Sail Sheboygan, located on the shores of Lake Michigan in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, is already known by sailors from around the world as a premier destination for top notch competitive sailing. With its fleet of professionally and perfectly maintained late model motorboats and ideal water front facilities, it is now poised to become the leading powerboat facility in the midwest.
US Powerboating is organized to directly address the educational needs of powerboat owners and operators in the United States and is an affiliate of US SAILING, the national governing body for the sport of sailing. US Powerboating has established definitive national standards to validate knowledge and practical skills of operators of sport and cruising
Our Mission
It is the mission of the US Sailing Center of Sheboygan to develop abilities in sailing and seamanship in individuals to the extent of their capacity. We believe that regardless of age, income, ability, or disability those who come to understand the fundamentals of sail trim, teamwork, and seamanship understand more about themselves, their fellows, and their world.
