Sandhill Crane Vineyards
At Sandhill Crane Vineyards, we feel pretty strongly about how we make our wine. We use only local grapes and other fruits, we make all the wine ourselves in our cellar, and every batch is handcrafted with love and care. The results speak for themselves -- the most gold medals and the greatest number of medals of any winery in southeast Michigan.
Family owned and operated, Sandhill Crane Vineyards uses only the finest local produce for our handcrafted wines, made right on the premises. Our winemaker is known for her wide range of clean, rich, complex wines. Made lovingly in small batches, the tasting list includes well-balanced acidic white wines, rich reds, flavorful fruit wines, and delicious sweet-tart dessert wines.
It's a little bit of wine country in SE Michigan! We'd love to have you visit us for wine tasting soon. The winery is located in eastern Jackson County, about 35 minutes from Ann Arbor and Lansing, and an hour west of Detroit. The winery in Jackson is open year 'round. We feature wine tasting bars, our new café, gift shop, and winery tours.
How do you go about wine tasting? Just drop in during our open hours and we'll take it from there. All tastings are free except our Vidal Blanc Ice Wine and 840 port.
Bringing a Group?
We'd love to help you celebrate your special occasion. For groups of 8 or more we ask that you give us a courtesy call at least 24 hours in advance and plan on arriving before 4:30 pm on the day of your visit. That will allow us to make sure that we have adequate tasting room staff on hand and reserve one or more tables for your group. We charge a tasting fee of $5 per person for groups of 8 or more. Each person will then receive a $5 coupon good for any purchase of bottled wine that day.
