Sayre Public Library is a dynamic organization serving the the greater Sayre community. Over six thousand people are served by the Sayre Public Library. The collection is continuously expanding and includes over 30,000 books, 1,000 periodicals, and 1,700 audiovisual materials. The Library also provides public access computers, computer classes, a variety of community seminars and workshops, story hour for preschool children, reading programs for school age children, programming for teens and seniors, and of course, books.

2011 marked the 75th anniversary of the Sayre Public Library. In 1936, during the Great Depression, the Library opened with 1,600 donated books and $300 in cash from the Monday Club.
