Science Spectrum
Head on up to the Science Spectrum and experience the brand new Lubbock Children's Museum. This 4000 square foot exploration area for children ages 5 and under was designed specifically with younger visitors in mind!
As children enter, they are immediately transported into a world built just their size! Playing may be on their agenda, but exploration and discovery await at many of the exciting new activity stations.
Find out how to take care of "Fluffy" in the Vet Clinic, or be a smart and healthy shopper in the grocery Marketplace. Learn all about small animal pet care and grooming while pretending to be a veterinarian. After that, be sure to "check out" the scanner in the Market after filling up your grocery cart!
Feeling musical? Try your hand at playing one of over 15 real instruments in the Music Room, such as a xylophone, keyboard, drum pad, gong, and so much more! Do you have a budding young TV star on your hands? Let them try out their skills at the KSCI-TV interactive News Desk.
A favorite of many, Water Works, allows children to start building a basic understanding of fluid dynamics. Other exhibits such as the Physics Forest allow children to explore properties of air, motion, and gravity. (See we're sneaky that way, and slip science into their fun!)
There's even a place for the youngest of patrons, the Crawl Around Corral, where little ones ages 6 to 12 months can an explore in a safe and secure environment.
Finally it wouldn't be a Science Spectrum visit if there wasn't a hands-on learning experience! Mom's will want to check out EUREKA!, a museum educator lead hands-on science, craft, demonstration or story-book time occurring daily in the Lubbock Children's Museum. Stop by in both the morning and afternoon Monday through Saturday, and on Sunday afternoons to see what's scheduled! There's no additional cost other than standard museum admission for EUREKA! activities.
