SHERRI CONWELL, founded Sherri's Dance Center in 1982, because she felt the need for a well-rounded dance program for primary and secondary students. Sherri is preparing her students for a future in the performing arts, as well as instilling self discipline and poise. Sherri did her early dance training in Lawton with Jack Storey and was a summer ballet student at North Carolina School of Performing Arts. She was a dance major at Oklahoma University studying under Victoria Lee, Yvonne Chateau, and Miguel Terekhov. She teaches and attends dance workshops throughout the year. Sherri was soloist in the 1991-92 production of The Nutcracker Ballet. She is a member of Texas Association of Teachers of Dance. She was a founder of Southwest Oklahoma Dance Alliance and served on the board for Arts for All. Sherri was Miss Lawton 1978. She has danced in the productions of "Oklahoma," , "A Chorus Line," and with the Oklahoma University Modern Dance Company. Sherri has also choreographed for SODA's Choreographer Showcase, local pageants and a commercial for The Salt Cellar. Sherri is an Artist-in- Residence for the Oklahoma State Arts Council.

Students of Sherri Conwell have been accepted at Oklahoma City University, University of California at Irvine University Masters program, University of Central Oklahoma Musical Theatre Department, Oklahoma University Youth Programs, Oklahoma University Dance Department, University of Central Oklahoma Dance Department, Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute of Quartz Mountain, Bill Evans Dance Institute, SODA's Nutcracker Ballet, a winner of the 1994 Miss Lawton Pageant, 2006 Miss Teen Stephens County, OK Kids Scholarship winners, LA Dance Force Scholarship winners, 2007 Oklahoma's Outstanding Teen and 2011 National KAR solo finalist.
