History
The Shiawassee Martial Arts Center is a local organization operated by Martial Artists from the Shiawassee County and surrounding area's. Owned and operated by Brian and Wenda Godfrey, the Studio has been at its new location since March 2003. Located in downtown Owosso at 204 W. Main Street (M21) in the old Sagebrush Building, the Studio offers martial arts training for Students 4 years old and above.
Mr. Godfrey began his Taekwondo training in the early 1980's at Lansing Community College and Michigan State University under the direction of Grand Master Jongoon Kim. In 1988 he supplimented his Taekwondo training learning judo with Mr. Don Vondrasek and the Owosso judo club. Affiliated with the MSU Taekwondo and Judo clubs, students are trained in traditional and competition Taekwondo and Judo.
