SK Tours of Maine, LLC is the only tour company that offers private narrated tours of the Stephen King sites in and around the Bangor, Maine area seven days a week year round. Each tour is approximately 3 hours long and highlights about 30 spots that pertain to Stephen King. You will see places he has lived and worked, places that have inspired his stories, and actual film locations from his movies.
Each tour is hosted by Stuart Tinker who has been featured on A&E Biography, City Confidential, People Magazine and many other national media outlets. With 20 years experience selling Stephen King books and memorabilia as the owner of the original Betts Bookstore, Stu is recognized as one of the leading experts on King Lore and legend, and he has lived all his life in Bangor, or as it is known in the Stephen King world, Derry, Maine. Stu started doing Stephen King Tours for King fans and researchers over 18 years ago, and has enjoyed introducing many new readers to the area that has inspired so many great books and movies.
Penney and Stu Tinker, are life long residents of Bangor, and owned and operated Betts Bookstore for 20 years, where they specialized in Stephen King books and memoribilia. Your tour guide, Stu, also owned and operated a limousine service for a number of years transporting people like Stephen King, Drew Barrymore, Kenney Rogers, Ann and Nancy Wilson from Heart, John Mellencamp, Cheap Trick and many others. His knowledge of the King world in and around "Derry" is second to none.
