The Southern Forest Heritage Museum, located in Long Leaf, Louisiana, is the oldest complete sawmill facility in the South. This complex is unique in that it is a complete sawmill complex dating from the early 20th century, and that it has the most complete collection of steam-powered logging and milling equipment known to exist.

Our mission is to preserve the cultural and natural heritage of the southern forest, and to provide a sense of awareness and pride in that heritage through programs of active public participation.

Facility Rentals

The site is available to rent for various functions; weddings, reunions, group gatherings and more.

Heritage Day is coming soon! Make plans for the Dinner & Dance on May 3rd, then come back on the 4th for our Heritage Day Festivities!
