State Library Of Florida
The Division of Library and Information Services is the designated information resource provider for the Florida Legislature and all state agencies. It also coordinates and helps to fund activities of public libraries, provides a framework for statewide library initiatives, provides archival and records management services, and preserves, collects, and makes available the published and unpublished documentary history of the state.
The State Library's professional resources collection is designed for the information professional. Employees at any public library, public K-12 or public academic library in the state of Florida are eligible for a library card that will allow access to the database Library Literature & Information Science Full Text. Library Literature provides full text and indexing of English and foreign-language periodicals, selected state journals, conference proceedings, pamphlets, books, and library school theses, plus over 300 books per year. A library card from the State Library will also allow access to a collection of e-books focusing on resources to help information providers. The State Library collects professional titles from publishers such as the American Library Association (ALA), Neal Schuman and Libraries Unlimited.
