The Country Club of Colorado
In 1967, Charles Gates purchased 3,000 acres of land in southwest Colorado Springs that was known as Cheyenne Mountain Ranch. He had a vision that included a community of individual home sites, shopping centers, restaurants, hotels and areas for recreation.
The Country Club of Colorado was the focal point of that vision and in 1971 Gates Land Company selected Pete Dye as the architect to design and build their golf course. The Club opened nine holes in the fall of 1973 and from the beginning, the community and the Club were a success. The golf course was built around a spring fed lake known as Curr Reservoir. In addition to a championship golf course, the Club's recreation programs offers tennis, racquetball, squash, exercise and fitness programs and water sports, which includes fishing. The main clubhouse includes the Pineview Restaurant, Family Dining, Member's Lounge, Golf Shop, Men's and Women's Locker Rooms.
Managed by Benchmark Hospitality International, The Country club of Colorado provides a wonderful opportunity for members to play golf, tennis, or experience the many other activities offered by the club.
