The Dog Bar
The Dog Bar is Charlotte's original one and only dog friendly off leash bar located in the historical North Davidson Street neighborhood, known as The Arts District or "NODA". This unique concept was created and opened in 2005 by owner and operator, J.P. Brewer. Brewer also owns Club K-9 of Charlotte and Club K-9 of Pineville (dog daycare and boarding facilities) and is heavily involved with dog rescue and fundraising.
So what is The Dog Bar like? It is similar to a dog park where dogs are off leash in a safe fenced in environment. They run and play in the climate controlled indoors or outdoors on the Astroturf under a completely shaded patio. The patio is cooled with a misting system in the summer and enclosed and heated in the winter.
The Dog Bar is a great local neighborhood hangout that offers live music and great drink specials including an extensive list of beer, liquor, and several wines. No food is served, however there are menus to all the great restaurants in NODA and surrounding areas for take-out. It's is a unique place for dog birthday parties, human birthday parties, social meet up groups, dog meet up groups, fundraising for any occasion, hanging out to catch ball games (lots of indoor and outdoor TV's) or to just enjoy a beautiful or not so beautiful day!
The Dog Bar provides a fun, relaxing environment! Don't feel like you have to own a dog to join in on the romping good time....you just have to love and enjoy them! If you plan on bringing your furry friends, there is an annual membership fee of $10 per dog and a membership form must be completed. You must be at least 18 years old to enter.
