Majestic Theatre Management is a non-profit company contracted to oversee operations, programs and fiscal health at The Majestic Theatre, a City owned community arts center in downtown Corvallis, OR. Our mission is to provide access, excellence and education to benefit the public and the greater arts community.

History

In August 2013 The Majestic Theatre in Corvallis Oregon will be 100 years old. The venerable vaudeville house has seen many incarnations over the decades. As we approach the centennial milestone the organization is enjoying a new surge of energy and output with a new staff, new strategic focus, new model and new programs. All are focused on establishing The Majestic as the flagship cultural space for the performing and contemporary arts in downtown Corvallis, serving the City and surrounding counties.

First built as a 1200 seat grand movie palace and vaudeville hall in 1913, the Majestic was purchased by the City of Corvallis in 1985 with designated funds from a private estate. Although owned by the City Corvallis and working in cooperation with Parks and Recreation, The theater is managed and operated by Majestic Theatre Management, a private 501 (3)(c) non-profit organization (Tax ID # 93-0877386).

Today, The Majestic Theatre serves as a creative laboratory, meeting place, and performance venue for a vibrant community of artists and a diverse audience base of culture hungry consumers in the Mid-Willamette Valley.
