The Sierra Vista Ballet is celebrating 37 years of excellence coaching ballet dancers and 37 years of presentation of outstanding Ballet shows, an impressive track record that has become a milestone in the history of the City of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and an American Ballet Theater Legacy.

The Sierra Vista Ballet Dance Studio is a large state-of-the-art, acoustically calibrated studio, featuring a floating oak floor, 360 degree mirrors, TV screen for the review of training and performance practices, a leading edge sound system and a clean-air system for comfort and environmental control.

In order to provide the highest possible quality, the Sierra Vista Ballet makes its own sound track digital recordings and does it's own professional level digital DVD recording of the shows. To assure an excellence in the shows, Hilda will design her own choreography or adapt the most classical shows for the Ballet's presentations.

The Sierra Vista Ballet designs and paints its own 45x25 ft stage drops. In addition, it has the equipment to create and produce the dozens of special effect devices that enhance the shows. Also in place is the capability to design and sew the gorgeous costumes used by the dancers. The studio facility can store sets for up to 15 different shows.

A track of excellence in shows: Over the years, the Sierra Vista Ballet has presented an array of exquisite ballets that are presented in a new state-of-the-art 1200 seat theater, the Buena Performing Arts Center. The theater features a large stage, sophisticated lighting system, and an outstanding sound system.

The shows presented by the Sierra Vista Ballet can be divided into two categories: "The Nutcracker" which is an elaborate, magnificent show of 75 dancers and actors. This dazzling show is put on every year in the first week of December.

A second series of shows are offered in the spring. In these shows, The Sierra Vista Ballet features an assortment of classical ballets. In 2004, the Ballet staged "Peter and the Wolf," excerpts from Coppelia, and the full ballets "Paquita" and "La Bayadere."
