The Upstagers

The Upstagers is an all-volunteer group established in 1977 by Fred Brockwell. We always welcome new talent. If you are stage struck, you can try out for a part in any production. If you like to sing and dance, The Upstagers have at least two musical productions every year. If you like to get in on the backstage action, there is plenty of fun to be had in working with costumes, sets, make-up, lights and sound. This is sort of an ongoing workshop to teach anyone who wants to learn. In addition, there are volunteer positions for the front of house and for our galas.

A season ticket to see The Upstagers is the best entertainment bargain in Del Rio. Our season ticket holders can go to any production of The Upstagers as many times as they wish. An opening night gala is usually held on the first night of a show. Prior to the show delicious snacks, wine, as well as nonalcoholic beverages are served in the lobby of the Paul Poag Theatre for the Performing Arts in downtown Del Rio. This gala is a perk for our season ticket holders only. It makes a wonderful evening out that won't break the bank.

Theatre tickets are also fantastic Christmas gifts. If you find yourself saying things like, "They have everything, or when will I have time to shop," and especially, "I have to pay shipping and handling, too?" consider the gift of live theatre. Adult season ticket are $40 and students (through high school) are $20.
