VETERANS MUSEUM OF MID-OHIO VALLEY

Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

The VETERANS MUSEUM OF MID-OHIO VALLEY ASSOCIATION is a non-profit organization established by a small group of local veterans in 2002. For five years The Veterans Museum presented itself to the public through newspaper articles, small displays set-up in various places throughout the area, and on television and radio spots. Through the efforts of many volunteers, local business supporters and grants, the Veterans Museum opened to the public in July of 2006.

From the beginning the Board of Directors adopted a mission with three primary purposes in mind. First and most importantly, our purpose is to honor and preserve the memory of veterans through a museum for their contributions to create and protect the American freedoms we enjoy. Our second purpose is to serve as an educational resource about our military involvement throughout the world. The third purpose is to provide a unique tourist resource in the Mid-Ohio Valley.

The Veterans Museum offers a growing collection of military displays that include photographs, letters, uniforms and artifacts. In addition we offer a library of books, videos and internet access for students to complete special research and learning activities. A docent program trains junior high and high school students who will serve as tour hosts.

The Association has volunteers who will do odd jobs at homes for families who have a loved one deployed on military duty, as well as retired veterans and their families.
