Wabash County Historical Museum
ENTERTAINING, EDUCATIONAL, AND FUNCTIONAL
Big city quality, small town character. The Wabash County Historical Museum uses state-of-the-art exhibits to introduce you to the rich history of this one of a kind county. From the Miami and Potawatomi tribes who lived here, to the development of the Wabash-Erie Canal and the Big Four Railroad, to the many innovative and talented people who inhabit the county, the Museum gives you a look at history that is both global and personal.
ARCHIVES
The archives contain a wide variety of printed material dating back to the early 1800s. There are assorted books, records, and photographs. Photo identification is required for all research. Contact Heather Allen, the archivist, for information or to schedule an appointment.
NOW ON DISPLAY
"Lifemaps & Legacies," our newest temporary exhibit in our mini-gallery. These visual biographies were created by local senior citizens under the guidance of local artist Jeanie Cooper. The "seniors" then met with Wabash High School juniors, who wrote biographies to accompany the artwork. This is a great tribute to some of the elder statesmen of our community. On display through April 27th.
RENTALS
The Museum is a unique facility that is available for rental by businesses, organizations, and private individuals. We are happy to work with you to make your event a memorable one. We have hosted birthday parties, business meetings, day-long conferences, reunions, and more! We have also hosted outdoor activities in the west plaza and the east parking lot.
MISSION STATEMENT
