ROLL UP YOUR SLEEVES Education

You're never too young or old to learn something from nature.Through hands-on environmental education programs and activities, each year we connect thousands of visitors to the natural world. Adjacent to some of the area's unique natural resources,Wildcat Park is a living laboratory to use in conservation education programs.

An amazing 1,300-gallon aquarium and Ozark stream is home to fascinating aquatic organisms like rainbow darters and stonerollers, as well as more locally common species like goggle-eye, gar and more.

Our chert glade terraria complex showcases live collared lizards, tarantulas, snakes and other animals found on the glades.

There are five outdoor learning stations near the building and along the park trails. The Center also houses three classrooms, a reference library, interpretive exhibits, children's indoor discovery area, nature store, wildlife viewing area and more, for organized class learning or self guided exploration.

A BIRD'S EYE VIEW TO Missouri Nature

Our spectacular site enables you to see wildlife in its natural habitats not only in the wildlife viewing area of the center, but also on the nearby chert glades, Silver and Shoal Creeks, and the pond overlook. Each changing season offers you the rich beauty of this unique place. The Audubon Center is a favorite for local residents and travelers along I-44. Great for a rejuvenating morning walk-- or for a place to bring family and visitors to show off the beauty of southwest Missouri.

WHERE A WALK CAN BECOME A Memorable Journey

Imagine a place where you can hike a savannah woodland and chert glade trail or enjoy a relaxing stroll along an Ozark stream. With more than three miles of paved and natural trails throughout the park, the Audubon Center offers plenty of ways to experience a variety of unique Ozark landscapes. Enjoy native wildflowers, trees, birds and other wildlife as you wind along the banks of Shoal Creek, across the historic Redings Mill Bridge's scenic shoals and above the tree tops on a chert bluff.
