Fischer Grand Opera House and Arts Complex

Built in 1884 and extensively remodeled in 1912, the Fischer Theatre has long been an anchor of Downtown Danville. Today it houses Stage Presents, the Fischer Gift Shop, and the Fischer Arts & Entertainment Museum dedicated to Danville's many wonderful entertainers. Full restoration of the theater as an arts. entertainment and education complex is the goal of Vermilion Heritage Foundation.
Keeping the Fischer Alive
Since our inception in 1998, the Vermilion Heritage Foundation has raised funds and attracted volunteers to this historic theatre. The Fischer Theatre has a long and wonderous history and we, the board of the Vermilion Heritage Foundation, have been working tirelessly to keep that rich history alive. From Ghost Tours to High Teas and Artist's Workshops we continue to educate people on the importance of an arts complex for the vitality of Danville and the surrounding area. To that end, we have updated the name of the theatre to The Fischer Grand Opera House and Arts Complex.
