Mission Statement:
As a private non-profit educational center, The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, Inc. is a play-based learning environment dedicated to offering unique and innovative hands-on learning adventures in the Arts, Sciences, and Humanities, providing the joy and wonder of discovery to children and families from economically and culturally diverse backgrounds.
Our History
- 1988 - Incorporated as a private, non-profit educational institution with an IRS 501(c) (3) designation
- 1991 - Opened with limited space in the Nevada State Museum
- 1994 - Opened in the restored Carson City Civic Auditorium with 30 hands-on exhibits, 4,000 square feet of exhibit space plus stage and foyer for admission desk, gift shop and restrooms
- 2000 - Lower level remodeled into offices, kitchenette, class and meeting rooms, workshop and storage

Birthday Parties
There isn't a better way to spend your birthday than at the Children's Museum! Great for all ages, the museum offers a special birthday party room and fees include room use for 2 hours, special gift for the birthday child, and all paper products (plates, cups, napkins, silverware, and party hats). We even set up before and clean up after your party!
