Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

The Children's Museum of Winston-Salem was conceived by the Junior League of Winston-Salem as its 75th anniversary gift to the community. The Museum - now a separate 501 (c) (3) nonprofit - opened its doors on November 20, 2004, following a successful capital campaign.

To create a compelling destination for our community to play and learn by experiencing literature, storytelling and the arts.

Nurturing children's imaginations, creativity and love of reading by bringing stories to life.

We Believe and Affirm that:

  1. Every child has value and deserves respect.
  2. Effective parenting resources give every parent/family the opportunity to play a primary role in their child's development.
  3. Storytelling bridges all cultures and generations.
  4. Collaborations strengthen our diverse community.
  5. Our Central location provides accessibility to the whole community.
  6. Every child deserves access to the Children's Museum of Winston-Salem.
